Production of single performer robot puppet for Robert Allsopp.
The concept was that Marvin would be made from a collection of retro audio equipment, his head a 1950’s radio, body a 70’s reel to reel recorder and microphones as limbs.
The main body was mounted on a rod which slid onto a front plate harnessed to the puppeteer, while feet were linked directly to feet via a metal plate. Arms extended from the elbows with a trigger for hand flaps able to pick things up if necessary.
It was a treat to reinterpret one of my favourite robot characters.
